Storyline
“Below Zero Border” recounts the disappearance of Commander Ali Hashemi in the final days of the war. Following the fall of Majnoon Island, numerous rumors surfaced accusing him of being a spy. This documentary aims to intertwine Ali ‘s story with the sorrows of the people in the area, while also offering a critical perspective on certain aspects of wartime management.

Storyline

Storyline
A well-meaning philanthropist places an advert pledging to give away 30 million tomans to someone in need, but the generous act causes chaos among the crowds that arrive to claim the gift. ‘Wednesday, May 9’ is broken up into three separate narratives: a woman who needs the money for a life-changing operation for her disabled husband, a pregnant woman who needs the money to get her innocent husband out of jail and the third is that of the misguided benefactor himself. This Venice award-winning, debut feature from director Vahid Jalilvand highlights the plight of the poor in Iran and how generosity teamed with faulty judgement can worsen the situation.

Storyline
The forensic pathologist Dr Nariman has a car accident with a motorcyclist and injures his 8-year-old son. He offers to take the child to a clinic nearby, but the father refuses his help and money. The next morning, in the hospital where he works, Dr Nariman finds out that the little boy has been brought for an autopsy after a suspicious death. Dr Nariman is facing a dilemma: is he responsible for the child’s death due to the car accident or the child died of food poisoning according to other doctors’ diagnosis?
